2016 – 2018

Funded by the Australian Government’s National Landcare Programme to Riverina Local Land Services, for the Regional Landcare Facilitator Project

In 2017-18, MLi’s Regional Landcare Facilitator program offered groups the opportunity to apply for Community Landcare Pop-up Grants. These grants aimed to support Landcare and community groups in the Riverina Local Land Services area to promote community-driven natural resource management.

Grants of between $2,000 and $10,000 were available (with a total of $25,000) to undertake projects and activities that encouraged the involvement of community groups in understanding, protecting and enhancing the natural environment.

Funding was provided for on-ground revegetation and habitat creation, and for projects that enhanced community awareness of biodiversity, built group capacity and/or used indigenous knowledge for environmental conservation.

The grants were very popular, with some fabulous outcomes achieved by groups who received the funding. Below are some examples of the projects completed through the grants.
